As the Head of Safety and Wellbeing, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening and further developing the safety culture and wellbeing of their people across geographically dispersed locations.
About the Role
Reporting into the Chief People Officer, the Head of Safety & Wellbeing will be instrumental in advising and coaching Leaders across the business to deliver contemporary programs and services to affect sustainable change in safety performance, mindset and behaviours in line with the strategic priorities and obligations.
You will manage all aspects of health, safety, wellbeing and workers compensation to ensure a safe work environment. Key projects will include developing the long term strategy with focus on further improving safety, shining a spotlight on psychosocial risk and engaging with and integrating a new safety management system. This will be achieved by partnering with key stakeholders and your team to develop a culture that encourages accountability, collaboration and positive change.
In addition, you will:
- Work with and support the Executive Team to mature the Safety culture and leadership to reflect best practice throughout a geographically dispersed organisation
- Coach, support, motivate and develop the team to enable them to deliver to the best of their ability and to improve safety performance
- Lead the WHS governance and reporting to ensure consistent, proactive, and effective delivery that supports due diligence and the discharge of obligations and enables insightful decision making by Senior Leaders, the Executive Team and the Board.
- Lead the ongoing provision of technology that supports the health, safety, wellbeing, and injury management program.
- Manage the safety management system to ensure it is contemporary, risk based and supports compliance and best practice
- Ensure proactive approaches to injury management to enable wellbeing and safety outcomes. Analyse data and trends to identity areas of improvement.
- Lead the workers compensation self-insurance function. Ensure governance and compliance and apply best practice approaches to maintain self-insurance licence.
The Individual
The successful candidate will be an experienced and dynamic Health & Safety Leader with a significant background successfully managing mature safety cultures across fast-paced and geographically dispersed workforces.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to present to the Board, Executive Team and Operational Employees in a compelling and engaging way. Requirements will be to build credibility quickly and positively impact those you work with.
