ABOUT THE ROLE
Barker College is currently seeking a Head of Senior School based at our Hornsby campus.
This will be a permanent role commencing 1 July 2024.
As a member of the Senior Executive, the Head of Senior School plays a vital role in leading initiatives aligned to achieving the School’s strategic vision. Responsible for the overall tone and climate, vision and leadership of the Senior School, the Head of Senior School is instrumental in shaping culture and enhancing the overall experience for the Senior School students. At its’ heart, the Senior School intends to be a bridge between school and post school experiences in a healthy age-appropriate manner.
With a team of three Deans and sixteen Heads of House and supported by an administrative assistant the Senior team is responsible to the Deputy Head Student Experience and will provide strategic and operational leadership, drive student and staff engagement, and foster a positive and respectful culture.
The Head of Senior School will maintain focus on the pursuit of academic excellence under the guidance of the Deputy Head Academic Care. In addition, leadership of the pastoral program, development of student leadership and ongoing representation of the Senior School with the Barker community.
Working closely with the Deputy Head People & Culture, the Head of Senior School will have responsibility for the staffing of pastoral positions within the Senior School team.
The position will work collaboratively with the Head of Middle School, and Head of Junior School to ensure a coherent student journey through the School.
