AddressOur client is looking to appoint an innovative and passionate Executive Chef to lead a team based in the Hunter Valley and oversee all the kitchen operations.
The Position
As Executive Chef, you will take ownership of the culinary operation and lead by example in all areas including supporting and motivating your team. You will have a strong interest in food trends and innovation and be adaptable to market demand.
Key duties
- You will bring your ideas and demonstrate strength in creating culinary benchmarks in modern cuisine using local and seasonal produce
- A natural leader with a unique approach to high-end catering in an upmarket setting
- The ability to foster a positive working relationship with staff, key clients and customers is essential as are sound verbal and written communication skills
- Ensure optimal rostering and workforce planning in an environment driven by seasonal fluctuations
- Strong focus on kitchen cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep, including HACCP
- Strengths in menu creation, maintaining food costs
- Focus on inventory management, stock control, purchasing, receiving and checking produce
- Creating innovative theme nights, and daily & weekly specials
- Emphasis on team building and training
- Understanding of food and wine pairings
- Capable of creating restaurant, banquet and conference menu packages

You
- A qualified and self-motivated Head/Sous Chef ready to progress to Executive Chef or an Executive Chef looking for a country change with the experience necessary to run large-scale functions and events, and a fine dining restaurant and cafe.
- Will be a positive, supportive and ambitious leader experienced in carrying out personal development plans, staff training sessions and appraisals
- Will possess a keen eye for detail, quality and presentation standards
- Be willing to adapt to last-minute requests with a positive attitude on a day-to-day basis
