Glencore Coal Assets Australia (GCAA) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced occupational Health and Injury management specialist. As part of the GCAA Health, Safety and Training team, you will provide support and guidance to our operations across NSW and Queensland in all aspects of occupation health, including health risk management, injury prevention and management, health surveillance and exposure monitoring programs.
Reporting to the GCAA Health and Injury Manager, your primary responsibilities include:
- Support Injury Management and Workers Compensation activities across both NSW and QLD operations ensuring consistent processes and continuous improvement.
- Focus on fitness for work processes in line with current legislation and developing business goals and objectives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Health and wellness programs across GCAA to promote a physical and psychologically healthier workforce.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide advice and support across the business relevant to workers compensation, injury management and occupational Health and wellbeing.
You will have:
- Strong injury management and workers compensation capabilities with experience in facilitating corporate strategies to support worker's recovery at work following injury / illness.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in an Allied Health discipline and extensive workplace-based experience in the management of injuries and associated workers compensation functions.
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with Workers Compensation Insurers with active involvement with WorkCover Queensland as well as the CMI scheme in NSW.
- Working knowledge of occupational hygiene exposure monitoring and management.

We are seeking a person who brings a passion for continuous improvement in workplace health management together with the ability to challenge and develop strategies to facilitate optimal service provider performance. There is regular interstate and intrastate travel required to areas including Central Queensland, Hunter Valley and Mudgee regions. Location can be negotiated with Manager from Hunter Valley, Newcastle or Brisbane office locations.
