Who we are
Cleanaway is the largest waste management company in Australia providing sustainable waste management solutions to a range of customers including councils, small businesses, large corporate entities and government agencies. Melbourne Regional Landfill (MRL) is the largest landfill in the southern hemisphere and a renewal energy plant with a capacity of 8.8Mw, providing enough electricity to power more than 13,000 homes each year.
About the role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional to promote and implement the safety culture at the MRL site.
Additionally, the role involves:
Conducting site inductions for contractors and new employees
Conducting risk assessments and hazard identification activities at the MRL and neighbouring sites
Issuing permits to work as per Cleanaway’s required standards
Involvement in various safety related initiatives and projects
Maintenance of current risk registers and development and assessment of effective risk controls
Conducting HSE incident investigations
Providing site managers with live safety-related advice when required.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Qualifications in occupational Health and Safety, or other relevant disciplines
A minimum of three years’ practical experience in Health & Safety or similar discipline
Strong communication skills to communicate at all levels of the organisation
Previous experience in blue-collar, high-risk industry environments is desirable.
