We are seeking a qualified Safety Officer based at our head office in Bundaberg. This role is a 12 Month Parental Leave contract. You will partner cross functionally with our teams in all departments across multiple sites along with our remaining workforce located throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the USA.
You will assist in performing Workplace Health and Safety duties by assisting teams in high quality investigations, risk assessments, safety coaching, reporting and outcomes. As a reflection of your commitment to provide and add value to your internal customers, you will contribute and support management plans of multiple site-based Safety Committees.
This role will be working 38 hours per week requiring the person to work rotational day and afternoon shifts week about.
Other day-to-day responsibilities include the oversight of multiple activities associated with such things as emergency preparedness, training and inductions, audits and inspections, basic occupational Health and hygiene as well as the development and delivery of supporting information, training, systems and tools.
The individual we are seeking will be a team player who proactively thrives working in a busy environment. You will need to be able to work autonomously as well as in a team.
Ideally, the successful applicant will have:
- Hold the relevant qualification at the Certificate level in Work Health and Safety.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist others
- Demonstrated intermediate-high computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Excellent customer service approach
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Current Drivers Licence and reliable motor vehicle
- Be willing to muck in when required
