About the Opportunity:
We’re on the hunt for a dedicated Wellbeing, Health, and Safety Operations Officer to join our team in Newstead. In this role, you will be responsible for directing the effective implementation, review, and continuous improvement of the WHS strategy across AACo sites. You will be the go-to person for all AACo site stakeholders, providing advice, support, and guidance concerning WHS.
Your key responsibilities will include the following:
- Support with the implementation of AACo's WHS management systems and assurance programs.
- Regularly travelling to pivotal sites within AACo's supply chain and operations to assist business units in identifying emerging WHS risks and assessing the efficacy of existing mitigations.
- Assist AACo site leadership and teams in comprehending and adhering to relevant organisational and legal requirements.
- Deliver training and awareness sessions to enhance the capability and capacity of site teams in identifying potential risks, implementing preventive measures, and managing risks effectively.
- Conduct WHS Assurance governance activities and Safety inspections onsite.
- Assist in driving positive a safety culture on site, and identification of WHS improvements.
- Maintaining and developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
What you will bring to this role:
- 3 + years of experience in spearheading end-to-end small to medium projects aimed at enhancing compliance with WHS Legislation and standards.
- Previous experience in implementing, managing, and evaluating the effectiveness of risk and WHS deliverables.
- Administrator experience in building and amending Incident Reporting Software such as MYOSH or similar.
- Attention to detail to support creditable documentation, communications, data and reports.
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment. Good knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WHS) and other key legislations (QLD/NT).
