They are looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join their team!
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with training and implementing the company's Safety System.
- Investigate incidents, including injuries and near misses, within 24-48 hours.
- Keep a register of corrective actions.
- Report notifiable incidents to Safe Work QLD.
- Ensure attendance at Safety & WHS meetings is compliant.
- Facilitate WHS Committee meetings and implement outcomes.
- Engage in audits to maintain compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments for all plant and machinery.
- Aid in drafting Standard Operating Procedures for site processes and equipment.
- Regularly review risk assessments & Standard Operating Procedures for accuracy.
- Maintain records of safety training, checks, and meetings.
- Compile and manage safety reports.
- Ensure all contractors complete site safety inductions before work begins.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in understanding current WHS legislation and Codes of Practice.
- Preferably holding a Tertiary qualification in Work, Health and Safety, industrial relations, human resource management, business management, law, or a related field.
- Familiarity with manufacturing hazards, particularly in mining and construction contexts.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in conflict resolution.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
- Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
