We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Specialist to join our team. Based in Matraville, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with HSE legislation and Valmet Global safety requirements. Your primary focus will be on implementing HSE continuous improvement projects and practices, with particular emphasis on the work practices at all Valmet sites across Australia and New Zealand. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and maintain site, legislative, and global Valmet standards
Conduct audits and prepare reports to ensure adherence to safety protocols
Collaborate with our customer's HSE Manager to identify site-based hazards and develop strategies for their elimination
Deliver training programs to management, employees, contractors, and suppliers
Utilize your expertise in HSE to effectively communicate critical information and influence stakeholders at all levels
Work as a senior HSE representative, demonstrating your strong technical proficiency and communication skills
Travel to various Valmet ANZ sites to gather information, make informed decisions, and provide support as needed
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar HSE role within a manufacturing environment
In-depth knowledge of HSE legislative requirements and practices in Australia and New Zealand
Proven track record in deploying Health and Safety strategies, plans, and policies across an organization
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and influence stakeholders effectively
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to approach complex Health and Safety issues with a logical mindset
Appreciation for collaborative decision-making processes within a team or organization
Willingness to travel to Valmet sites in ANZ as required
