Azure is experiencing exponential growth as the Andover project transitions from exploration into scoping stages. As part of that growth, we now looking for a talented Health and Safety Supervisor to join our site-based team. Reporting to the Operations Manager this role will act as an onsite discipline lead, overseeing the daily delivery and continuous improvement of site Health and Safety management.
The Role:
Working on a 2:2 FIFO roster the Health and Safety Supervisor will oversee the delivery and implementation of the following site activities:
Leadership
- Supervision of site Health and Safety Advisors in the co-design of site-based work programs and performance goals.
- Leading, mentoring, and supervising site Health and Safety Advisors.
- Conducting performance reviews with Health and Safety Advisors and identifying training and development opportunities.
Risk, Audit, and Incident Management
- Site-based risk assessments to identify risks and hazards with the potential to cause harm to the Health and Safety of employees and contractors.
- Periodic inspections and audits of risk management controls.
- Investigation and close out of Health and Safety incidents including identification and implementation of mitigative measures.
Safe System of Work
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a Safe System of Work (SSW) across site.
- Review effectiveness of the SSW and identify areas for improvement.
Health and Safety Management System
- Site Health and Safety processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Health and Safety Management System audits.
- Continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitoring and Audit
- Collation of data – leading and lagging indicators.
- Health and safety monitoring programs (personal dust and noise monitoring).
- Internal and external Health and Safety reporting.
Training and Awareness
- Providing advice and information on Health and Safety controls and mitigation measures.
- Training and awareness programs of damaging energies and controls.
- Oversee onboarding of new employees, contractors, and sub-contractors.
Requirements:
- 2 + years’ experience in a Health and Safety Supervisory/Leadership role.
- 5 + years' experience in a site-based Health and Safety Advisor role.
- Demonstrated delivery of Health and Safety monitoring programs.
- Demonstrated experience leading incident investigations.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to influence a range of stakeholders.
- Commitment to positive safety culture and leading by example.
- Work Health and Safety qualification - minimum certificate IV.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Health and safety Lead Auditor Training - desirable.
- ICAM Lead Investigator Training or similar - desirable.
