This position is responsible for the day-to-day management, coaching and development of the Health Professional Team. It delivers programs and services for the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) but also supports other Diabetes Australia programs. This is a hybrid role consisting of both Team Leader and Health Professional program delivery duties to be undertaken with a 60/40 split.
- Manage the Health Professional Team (approx. 10 direct reports) ensuring the seamless day-to-day operation of the team in delivering rostered activities and responding to unexpected demands.
- Track productivity and identify areas for growth and development through the performance review process, ensuring each individual understands their responsibilities and has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
- Achieve a motivated, engaged and high performing team culture through open communication and collaboration within a changing environment.
- Plan and lead team meetings and mandatory training.
- Track and support the team through internal program accreditation.
- Identify and drive quality improvement activities ensuring team consultation throughout the process.
- Provide high quality evidence-based education and information to people living with diabetes, their families and carers and members of the general public face-to-face, over the phone and via email.
- Deliver group education programs and health promotion activities across Qld as required on a rostered basis.
- Contribute to the NDSS Helpline service on a scheduled rotation basis.
- Develop and review health content for Diabetes Australia resources and publications, including web content and newsletter articles.
- Proactively search out, utilise and engage with health networks both Health Professional and consumer, linking them to Diabetes Australia.
- Identify opportunities and strategies to improve health and support networks within the community.
- Bachelor qualifications in nursing or allied health and registered/accredited with the respective regulated body i.e Ahpra/Dietitians Australia/Exercise and Sports Science Australia.
- Demonstrated experience and success in managing people and teams, including completion of performance appraisals.
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills including the ability to learn quickly and navigate new systems/programs with ease.
- Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience delivering group diabetes self-management education.
- Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills, including reporting, public speaking and presentations.
