The Field Health & Safety Advisor supports the Construction Management Team in delivering the field development program across both Roma North and Project Atlas developments.
The projects will be a combination of brownfield construction within existing facilities and greenfield construction sites.
Your role is to ensure the safety of all staff and contractors, completion of risk assessment actions, compliance to safe work methods, procedures and legislation including the WHS Act and the P&G Act.
The key accountabilities:
- Assist Supervisors in verifying that personnel are following requirements of HSEMS, Safety Manuals, Procedures and relevant WHS legislation, codes of practice and industry best practice - engaging in 'Stop the Job' discussions where necessary
- Assist in driving positive a safety culture on site, and identifucation of safety improvements
- Monitor and advise on the overall wellbeing of the site personnel
- Maintain good working relationship with Contractors, Community and other relevant stakeholders
- SWMS review - assist contractors and Supervisors in developing JHA/SWMS
- SWMS inspection - verifying that site works are being conducted in accordance with SWMS
- Support the active identification and reporting hazards
- Assist with hazard and incident reports
- Implementation and monitoring of corrective action closeouts from incidents, Hazobs, risk assessments, inspections and audits as relevant to the site.
- Keeping hard copy HS documentation up to date on site
- Coordinate and maintain hazardous substance registers, risk assessments and SDS records - monitor contractor compliance with requirements of same.
- First Aid kit checks and maintenance
- Site Specific Inductions
- Conducting site audits and site inspections inc equipment inspections/audits (eg ensuring lifting equipment tags are compliant etc)
- Coordinate emergency response drills, assist with Emergency Evacuation planning
- Assist Supervisors verifying contractor training competencies
- Maintain Senex site safety equipment and PPE
- Certificate 4 in Occupational Health and Safety (Minimum)
- Senior First Aid.
- 3+ years previous experience in a CSG or Construction HSE position or equivalent related position.
- Excellent written and presentation skills, with ability to adapt style and content of presentation for both technical and non-technical audiences;
- Provide exceptional safety leadership in a Field / Project environment, that can positively influence and foster culture towards successful outcomes; and flexible attitude and have the ability to react to changing scenarios and priorities
- Workplace Training and Assessment (Cert IV) qualification
- Internal Auditor qualification in either; Safety (AS/NZS 4801) or Quality (ISO AS/NZS 9001)
- Incident Investigation qualification (eg ICAM/TAPROOT or similar)
