Your new company
This civil contractor has a history of delivering exceptionally large and complex infrastructure projects across Australia. They have a particular penchant for complex road & structure projects, and due to successfully securing a major project in Townsville, they are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to work with the Health & Safety Manager.
Your new role
Reporting to the projects Health & Safety Manager, you will work in a team environment to oversee the site safety and provide the necessary safety support and advice to Project Managers, Supervisors and operational staff.
In a day-to-day capacity you will:
Maintain and control company HSQE Management Systems to ensure site compliance.
Conduct Daily Site Walkarounds, HSE Inspections, and Plant Inspections to ensure safety standards.
Conduct toolbox talks
Coordinate projects auditing of operations from a HSQE perspective to identify areas for improvement.
Assist in project planning to incorporate WHS and environmental factors into procedures and specifications
Communicate new HSE systems, policies, and procedures to employees to ensure understanding and compliance.
Provide administrative support for the review of documentation and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Formal qualifications in Health & Safety
Demonstrated experience in a Health & Safety capacity on road or bridge infrastructure projects in Queensland.
In-depth knowledge of WHS practises, principles and legislative requirements
Experience in documentation and investigation of WHS breaches and near misses.
What you'll get in return
For your expertise, you will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package which is dependent on your relevant experience, circa. $100,000-120,000 + Super + Project Allowance + Project Bonuses + Vehicle.
