About the Assignment
The primary objective of this position is to provide the Onshore Upstream Division with coaching, mentoring and leadership in Health and Safety (HS) execution. This includes areas such as Safety Management System (SMS) implementation and assurance, incident investigation management, contractor management and delivering HS improvement plans and initiatives.
The role serves as a key point of contact for our Frontline Leaders on field-related HS matters. This includes offering advice, coaching, and mentoring to help establish, build and develop their site safety leadership capability.
Tasks include:
- Coaching and mentoring of Santos Frontline Leaders
- Implementing the Santos Safety Management System
- Using Santos' Health and Safety systems
- Executing Health and Safety Assurance activities
- Provide advice, coaching, and participation in contractor management
- Participate in site discussions on planning, preparation and managing risks
- Collecting and communicating factual incident data for escalation and reporting
- Coach and lead field investigations for Safety incidents in-line with the Santos Investigation and Learning procedure
- Coach, mentor and support Frontline Leaders in the rollout of Santos Health and Safety initiatives
- Participate in and support emergency response activities in the field
- Support and promotion of continuous HS improvement
- Support the 'One Santos' way and our 'Always Safe' value by embedding a consistent set of positive safety behaviours and expectations across all Santos sites
This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.
Location for this assignment is Cooper Basin (Moomba) on a 15/13 roster.
About You
- 3 - 5 years' experience in a health and safety role within the oil and gas or a similar industry
- Experience working within Production Facilities, Gas Field Construction or Drilling and Completions
- Lead Auditor training
- Investigation training (Taproot preferred)
- Experience with Behavioural Based Safety Programs
Mandatory Tickets / Quals / Certs
- Degree Qualified or Equivalent Tertiary / work / industry experience in relevant technical area
- Postgraduate qualifications in HSS would be desirable
