WellPro is a privately owned Australian company servicing the energy, resource and mining sectors. We offer a range of coiled tubing, cementing and fluid pumping services and due to an internal career move have a need to fill the HSE and Compliance Manager role. Whilst this role is based in Darra it requires regular travel to our head office in Roma and on-site visits to various work locations nationally.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role provides comprehensive HSE & Compliance advice and support to the entire organisation. With responsibility for managing and maintaining the WHS management system and activities together with managing the Quality Management System for operational excellence, this is a role that requires thorough understanding of responsibilities and demonstrated experience in a similarly held position. The primary purpose is to provide leadership on Safety and Compliance across all projects and operations.
The ideal candidate we are looking for has a comprehensive understanding of the Oil and Gas Industry and its regulations and is ready to hit the ground running in a hands on, team orientated management role.
Job tasks and responsibilities- Manage the WHSE Management system, procedures and activities ensuring compliance with legislative, training and client requirements
- Manage the Quality management system so that it operates effectively, is up to date and utilized by staff in their day-to-day role. This includes overseeing the maintenance and updating of operational/risk registers and risk management procedures
- Audit and review the QA Program to ensure documents, processes and procedures are current and comply with governance and applicable regulations and standards and changing business activities
- Provide timely, practical and expert advice to all stakeholders on the application of regulatory requirements and obligations across the broad range of activities, services and projects undertaken
- Work collaboratively with department managers, to carry out Business and Operational Risk Assessments including Job Safety and Environment Analysis.
- In conjunction with Operations management, develop and review work instructions, SOP's, SWMS, and risk assessments
- Provide regular training and WHSE updates including regular safety meetings that educate employees and promote HSEQ awareness and competencies
- Ensure the ongoing development of a suite of contemporary and effective HSEQ policies, procedures, systems, and processes for effective and consistent implementation across the business
- Actively promote a Zero Harm WHSE and continuous improvement compliance culture aligned with company vision and core values
- Conduct accident/incident reporting including ICAM investigations
- Foster excellent stakeholder relationships to drive and support a compliance culture ensuring integration of compliance management into core business processes
- Provide out of hours support to management and project teams as necessary
- Relevant WHS Qualifications (Minimum Cert IV or Advanced Diploma)
- A minimum 3-5 years' experience in the Oil and Gas Industry in a similar role
- Strong understanding of land rigs & legislative HSE requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems including knowledge of quality control, process improvement and auditing processes
- Substantial work experience relevant to the role, including extensive experience in safety management systems and CSG field industry
- OH&S Construction Induction Certificate (White card)
- Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
- Current C Class licence
- ICAM Investigator
- Wellsite Permit to Work Authority
- Ability to deliver quality customer service, contribute to service improvements and influence change
- Highly developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills including sound conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Experience developing HSE programs and implementing improvements
- Continuous improvement mindset, with experience in identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions
