The Opportunity:

This is an important and senior role in which you will lead Transport Safety and Compliance as well as Driver Training & Assessors and the Driver Training Program for Holcim ANZ.  You will develop and maintain systems and processes to operate safe and compliant transport activity - ensuring compliance to HVNL (including NHVR compliance), WH&S and Holcim Global Road Transport Safety requirements as well as providing reporting and visibility of Transport Safety and compliance performance.

Detailed responsibilities and accountabilities are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include:

  • Actively leading, influencing and promoting a safety culture in Transport Safety and compliance
  • Engaging proactively with various stakeholders within the organisation
  • Ensuring  Transport Safety & Compliance processes are embedded and are effective to deliver agreed KPI's
  • Leading the driver trainers nationally to deliver an effective driver training and assessment program resulting in improved driver behaviour, a high standard of driver Compliance and safe performance
  • Establishing and reporting, at agreed intervals, KPI's to measure performance and opportunity for improvement in Compliance and safety
  • Participating in incident investigations as required
  • Staying connected to external regulatory authorities and industry peers to stay abreast of best practice

About you:

Tertiary qualifications are preferred and experience in Logistics with focus on Safety, Training and Compliance in large organisations in relevant industries would be highly regarded. This experience may include senior roles with major transport and/ or 3PL providers, and ideally experience with both contracted and company owned fleets and you will need a strong understanding of legal regulatory and statutory requirements in relation to WH&S, Road Safety Compliance and HVNL.

You will have solid experience with improving and refining business processes and systems, including change management and possess effective people and leadership skills to manage a team based across multiple regions.

As well as strong  technical knowledge you will have exceptional experience at working with broad stakeholder groups in complex national businesses and your exceptional negotiation and influencing skills will help you to engage with at all levels and to drive business improvement and transformation across our business.
