The Role
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Health, Safety and Environment Manager with experience in oil & gas or similar industry. Reporting to the Head of Operations -Terminals & Firming, the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager is responsible for leading Health, Safety and Environmental management operation activities at Port Kembla Energy Terminal (PKET) (MHF). The successful candidate will play a key role in developing HSE management programs and driving performance against HSE metrics.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement a Safety, Health and Environment Management System (SHEMS), including policies and procedures, that are appropriate for the operation of Port Kembla Energy Terminal.
- Provide HSE management, leadership, training, and operational support to the PKET Operations team and it's Contractors
- Track PKET’s health, Safety and Environment metrics and use the data to identify and reduce risk, utilising proactive and reactive measures.
- Work closely with the PKET Operations team and all Contractors to ensure compliance with all HSE systems and requirements is maintained.
- Prepare and submit all relevant applications for approvals, licences and/ or permits required for the operation of PKET as requested from time to time.
- Act as a key point of contact and develop proactive relationships with relevant regulatory bodies
- Chair and manage all associated functions of an OHS committee for PKET as and when required.
- Assist in all aspects of incident investigation including verifying root cause and approving the implementation of preventative actions.
- Ensure emergency response plans, policies, and procedures are developed and implemented to manage emergency situations.
- Maintain all Federal, State, and Local approvals in current and valid condition including MHF licencing requirements under SafeWork NSW legislation.
- Maintain current working knowledge of all applicable HSE legislative requirements and ensure all registers are up to date.
- Maintain all necessary training and licensing to function as a signing authority on all HSE matters.
About you
You will have:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Leadership positions (preferably in oil and gas or similar industrial settings).
- Knowledge of LNG terminal operations, equipment and safety standards.
- Experience in process safety management within a Major Hazardous Facility (MHF).
- Experience using safety management systems.
- Experience in Environmental Management Systems and Policies.
- Tertiary qualifications in HSE or related discipline.
- Current Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or eligible to apply for one.
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
