About the role:
The Health & Safety Business Partner supports and partners with key stakeholders to build the Generation & Development portfolio’s Health & Safety knowledge and capability, while providing specialist advice and coaching to ensure the Generation & Development team are focused on the high risks and maintain a suite of controls to mitigate unwanted events.
This position promotes a high performing, positive and proactive workplace health and safety culture focussed on meeting Origin HSE objectives and statutory requirements. This role will primarily support the Principal Business Partner - HSEMS (Generation) while also closely supporting the broader HSE and Generation & Development community. As the energy transition progresses the role may evolve to include similar responsibilities for other Origin assets or Business Units.
Why this role matters
- Lead change initiatives for continual improvement in Health and Safety Management Systems, ensuring effectiveness and user focus.
- Contribute to health, hygiene, and wellbeing strategy for Generation & Development in collaboration with Corporate Health and Safety team.
- Conduct HSE assessments and assurance for contractors.
- Support health and safety plans' development and implementation.
- Conduct regular visits, interact with management and workforce, and oversee safety behaviours, inspections, and audits.
What will you bring?
- 3 years plus working in a HSE role within heavy industrial organisations or 5 years plus working in a technical gas or electrical role
- Knowledge of applicable HSE legislation
- Risk & Contractor management
- Incident investigations
- Experience in leading, coaching or mentoring
- Demonstrated high motivation and output under minimal supervision
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Digital technology skills and knowledge
