Based in Brisbane, the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Advisor is a valued member of the HSEQ team. You will work closely with the HSEQ team implementing risk management processes and programs across our business. This is a position which will provide the right candidate with significant growth and personal development opportunities across a variety of new and interesting challenges in the Renewables Power Industry.
With respect, integrity and honesty, you will:
- Assist with the ongoing implementation and review of Shell Energy's HSSE Management System to ensure we have best in class systems to support our dynamic business;
- Be our key focal point for managing our HSSE digital platform Lucidity and keeping the system up to date and pursuing further enhancements to service, simplify and improve where we can;
- Be a key player in our corporate HSSE committee team and work with the members to refine the structure and outcomes that will have direct positive impact on our workforce;
- Assist with investigations and reporting processes, coaching contractors in “what good looks like” when it comes to quality investigations and then sharing these lessons more broadly across our organisation;
- Conduct safety audits and inspections across our business to familiarise yourself with our operations and key risks, progressing to developing our annual HSEQ assurance plan and activities;
- Actively support our senior leadership team in the roll out of HSSE Improvement Plan initiatives such as Shell Safety Day, World Mental Health Day and our Behavioural Based Safety Programs;
- Provide guidance and safety support to our Line management and delivery teams across the business; and
- Assist with any other workplace health and safety (WHS) initiatives and drive the development of positive WHS culture across our business.
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with safety software systems;
- Demonstrated capability for attention to detail with particular emphasis on reporting requirements;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Willingness to undertake safety training to enhance capabilities in the role;
- Willingness to assist Shell Energy to become a recognised Safety Leader in our industry; and
- Ability to travel.
