Experienced working within Health & Safety and looking for a new opportunity in a global organisation that will offer part time hours and flexibility? Our ideal candidate for this role might be someone who has previously held a standalone role within health and safety and is confident reporting directly to the VP APAC.
As a critical member of the Australian head office team of this highly successful global leader, you will report to the VP Asia Pacific and liaise with the leadership team extensively. The role supports the leadership team to develop, implement and manage OH&S practices and processes.
Key areas that you will be responsible for will include:
- Administration of all OH&S activities
- Manage and enhance OHS policy and processes. Provide thought leadership and recommendations to the business for continuous improvements or changes.
- Manage all business insurance policies in coordination with Director Finance & Administration.
- Provide internal consolidation of OHS compliance reporting on offices, field service and project teams
- Assist VP APAC and Head of Services APAC to enhance OHS policy and processes. Provide thought leadership and recommendation to the business for continuous improvements or changes.
- Advise Executive team on responsibilities under WHS legislation and the overall state of workplace health and safety
- Coordinate with managers and employees the development, maintenance and revision of policies and procedures for the WHS Management System
- Foster and develop a WH&S Culture across the region
- Maintain inductions as per client requirements and contractor management systems
- Monthly management reporting on the status of WHS and KPI’s
- Facilitate the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions including reporting of identified hazards and appropriate risk control measures.
- Ideally, you will have substantial experience in a similar role, including advising on OHS management and workplace investigations processes from end to end
- High level technical ability and expert knowledge in OHS, worker’s compensation and other relevant legislation, regulation and codes of practice
- A confident communicator with the ability to engage with employees at all levels including senior stakeholders
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Proactive and comfortable taking initiative when faced with new challenges
- Strong organisational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Be an effective team player and have strong interpersonal skills, including confidence, positivity and the ability to gain credibility
