Strandline are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Superintendent to join our operations team. Reporting to the Registered Manager and functionally to the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing health and safety activities on site by leading a team of medical and emergency services personnel (MESO) and coordinating risk management processes.
This role will be 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO from Gascoyne region.
Your role
- Review and update management systems as necessary as part of the continuous improvement process.
- Implement, monitor and maintain all programs, supporting processes and the implementation of the Health and Safety Management Plan, Principal Mining Hazard Management Plan, Critical Risk Management process, Cyclone, Bush Fire and Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans.
- Coordinate site incident management team (IMT), lead the Medical and emergency Services (MESO) team and coordinate the site volunteer emergency response team (ERT).
- Monitor HSEC KPIs and reporting, implement critical risk and controls verification process, audit schedule, facilitate incident (ICAM) investigations and drive actions through to completion.
- On site coordination of the fitness for work program, injury management and return to work programs.
- Conduct training as necessary, verification of competencies as applicable and participate in behavioural based safety field engagement program.
- Coordinate the WHS committee meetings and ensure representatives are regularly consulted and notified of incidents and new initiatives.
- Provide coaching to Strandline and contractor leadership teams.
- Champion a culture of personal responsibility and stop work authority, promote Company values and an incident and injury free workplace.
About you
- Experienced health and safety, medical and emergency management professional.
- Demonstrated excellent computer, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experienced working FIFO in remote mining operations in a safety leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience leading incident (ICAM) investigations.
- Experience with coordinating injury management and return to work programs.
- Possess high level of hazard identification and risk management skills.
- Experience with INX InControl software package and the DEMIRS Safety Reporting System (SRS) (Desirable)
- Current driver’s licence
