About The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Health & Safety, Systems and Improvement Manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in leading and advancing Thiess projects to excel in health, safety, and training standards. Your primary responsibilities will include developing cutting-edge management systems, enhancing data analysis and reporting frameworks, and spearheading regional assurance programs.
Drawing upon your expertise in contemporary HS management systems, you will drive strategic decision-making through insightful communications and robust processes. As a peer to regional Operations Managers and site Project Managers, you will have a unique opportunity to foster innovation, develop training programs, and elevate health and safety standards across the Australia East business.
Additionally, you will:
Develop modern HS management systems (aligned to HRO principles).
Improve data analysis and reporting systems for operational and strategic decision making
Develop an assurance program that provides high level of governance in line with Thiess expectations.
Coordinate and develop regional HS specific training programs
Further improve HS communication across all levels of the Australia East business
Manage HS systems support roles including direct reports and external roles that support the Australia East business
About You
Your seamless communication, both verbal and written, adds finesse to the flow of ideas and information. You will utilise a broad professional network to drive results and work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
Additionally, you have:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading the development and implementation of AS 45001 based management Systems and senior Health & Safety roles.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in mining or other heavy industries - Senior HS roles.
Experience or understanding in HRO would be an advantage.
Leadership of Health & Safety personnel (management skills preferred).
Business level Risk Management experience
Experience developing and executing assurance programs, reporting & data systems, HS communications.
Degree level education in Health & Safety or a related field (desirable).
