What you'll be doing

The position holder is responsible for developing, managing and/or coordinating and evaluating:
- Local Health Plans
- Health Projects for the Local Health District and Directorate, Planning, Population Health and Equity
- Preparation of briefings, reports, strategies, business cases and general correspondence as required.
The incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing and coordinating high quality service planning, business cases and other project activities as required by the Local Health District or Director Strategy Innovation and Improvement. The Health Planner will also prepare robust, logical, timely reports for a diverse audience.
The position is responsible for using effective time management and organisational skills to ensure that all tasks are well planned, implemented and run to schedule. The position will support the South Eastern Sydney Local Health
District and Directorate of Strategy Innovation and Improvement to effectively plan and forecast needs in relation to the design and delivery of its health programs and services.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in project management, contemporary health planning and/or strategy development.
- Demonstrated high level competence in preparing reports and complex correspondence within strict timeframes.

- Well developed verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with clinicians, managers, other staff and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, a commitment to maintain high standards of professional conduct, and ability to exercise judgment and take initiative.
- Tertiary or higher qualifications in health related discipline, health planning, health management or related area, and/or equivalent experience in health planning and/or projects.
- Willingness to travel between sites and facilities across a large geographic area.
