About the Role

We are excited to announce a permanent full-time position for a Health and Wellbeing Lead at Monash Health. The Wellbeing team is an integral part of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team and has a key role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Monash Health employees.

As our Health and Wellbeing Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in promoting and supporting employee wellbeing through our Workforce Wellbeing Strategy and associated programs. You will drive change and support the development of wellbeing initiatives to cultivate a mentally healthy workplace. Reporting directly to the Workforce Wellbeing Manager you will collaborate closely with various teams and stakeholders across the organisation. Together, we'll shape and implement a comprehensive Health and Wellbeing strategy that reflects our values and goals. Your efforts will empower managers to lead a mentally healthy workplace, enable employees to thrive, and establish a Wellness Culture at Monash Health.

In this role you will be required to:

Support the planning, executing and evaluation of innovative initiatives to enhance employee health and wellbeing. You’ll also provide proactive advice and support for initiatives and programs aligned to Monash Health’s strategic Wellbeing goals.

Build effective working relationships with key external (e.g. EAP provider) and internal stakeholders including HR, management and operational areas across the organisation to support timely service delivery and implementation of the strategy. You'll also set up and coordinate key stakeholder groups to inform Wellbeing strategy as well as promote and support Wellbeing within the organisation, e.g. Peer Support Program and Wellbeing Champions. 

Assist in the development of health and wellbeing systems, including psychosocial risk management, to ensure compliance with regulations and minimising risk exposure and liabilities.

Raise awareness and build capabilities among leaders, employees, and stakeholder groups. This can include creating and maintaining a wellness calendar, organising health promotion events and timely, reliable communications of workplace health and wellbeing information.

Use a data-led approach to health, safety and wellbeing to inform, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives, enable sound decision making and guide our journey towards improved wellbeing.

Keep updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging research in health and wellbeing to continuously improve wellness programs and psychosocial risk management.

About You

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Proven experience in supporting the continuous improvement of Work Health and Safety and Wellbeing programs across all levels of the organisation. 
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based Mental Health and wellness strategies, tools, and incentives. 
  • Demonstrated communication, project and program delivery skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of stakeholders, with the ability to influence for decision making. 
  • Passion for promoting a mentally healthy workplace, health and well-being, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of employees. 
  • Proven experience in supporting the implementation of a Workforce Wellbeing strategic plan which has delivered demonstrated improvements. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written including a demonstrated ability to producing quality promotional communications and provide expert advice on Health and Wellbeing health issues. 
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and promoting employee events to foster a positive wellbeing culture. 
  • Demonstrated ability to collate, manipulate, analyse and interpret workforce data to inform decision making. 
  • Well-developed computer literacy 

Qualifications/ registrations/ licences 

  • Tertiary qualifications Psychology, Organisational Psychology, Health Promotion, Psychological safety and mental health, Health Education, Public Health or related field. 
  • Workplace Health and Wellbeing or related 
  • Current driver’s license
