Status: Full Time Permanent
Salary: $60,356 - $66,260 p.a. + 11% superannuation contribution

About Us
Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Opportunity
As Health Worker you will perform a range of duties in the delivery of primary health care services in Mossman Gorge. This position works as part of a multidisciplinary team to maximise health outcomes for the people of Cape York.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or higher relevant qualification
- At least one (1) years’ experience in a similar position assisting in the provision of primary health care
- Experience delivering primary health care services in remote Cape York communities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of primary health care services, functions and practices, including knowledge of the social determinants that impact on health and wellbeing
- Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
- Blue Card (Working with Children Card) or ability to obtain prior to commencement
- AFP National Police Check
