Commodore Mine:
Located adjacent to the Millmerran Power Station (an easy 2 and a half hour drive from Brisbane), Commodore Mine is the power station's sole source of coal fuel supply. The BUMA Australia team have been providing a total mine service to Millmerran Power Partners since September 2001, delivering typically 3.6 million tonnes of raw coal per year to the power station.
We are responsible for the operation and management of the mine and associated activities, including providing mine planning and design expertise, drill and blast services, overburden stripping, coal mining and rehabilitation.
The Commodore project employs around 140 people, including staff, mine operations and equipment maintenance personnel. The majority of the workforce has been employed from the local community.
Our fleet comprises a combination of Caterpillar 785, 789 and 777 haul trucks in conjunction with Hitachi EX3600 and Liebherr R9350/ R994B excavators.
Job description:
As BUMA Australia grows, we are seeking full time Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance on the mobile fleet in the field and workshop. You will also perform inspections to determine condition and suitability to return to service.
Profile description:
About You:
- Relevant Diesel Fitter/ heavy vehicle trade qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Proven experience with Liebherr, Caterpillar, Hitachi, O&K and Komatsu
- High levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
- Safety focus with a high attention to detail to abide by site safety processes
- Experience working for a medium to large mine operator would be desirable although not essential
- Excellent work planning and scheduling skills
