Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Rail

Job Title: Heavy Diesel MechanicAbout our client: Our client plays host to a dynamic team specializing in heavy vehicles, with a focus on specially modified rail hybrid vehicles. Based in Truganina, our client is seeking a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (experienced in Field Service) to contribute to their workshop-based operations, as well as providing on-the-road service excellence when required.Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, fitting and modifications on heavy vehicles.
• Conduct on-site service visits, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of mechanical issues.
• Utilize expertise in hydraulics to troubleshoot and repair and fit hydraulic systems.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.

Requirements:

• Qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic (required)
• Experience in the workshop and on the road (required)
• Strong background in hydraulics (required)
• Dual tradesperson qualifications are advantageous.
• Valid MR truck license is advantageous; the company will support upskilling if necessary.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Schedule:

• 8-hour workdays, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
• Overtime opportunities available.

Compensation:

• $48 per hour.
