HEAVY DUTY APPRENTICE MECHANIC

Edmonton, AB

Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Heavy Equipment Mechanic based in our Edmonton, AB location. This is a full-time, hourly position (minimum 40 hours per week) with occasional overtime required.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting, repairing, testing and inspecting mobile and crawler hydraulic cranes, boom trucks, trailers and light duty vehicles within an industry leading PM program.
• Determine parts required for service and repair to equipment in Sterling Crane's fleet.
• Provide detailed repair comments in both paper and electronic work orders

format.

Qualifications:

• 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Heavy Duty Equipment Technician required.
• The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Working experience on engine emission systems considered an asset.
• Working experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is required.
• Must supply own hand tools, a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge in FCC (Fleet Cost and Care) considered an asset.
• The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 955

or become members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local

955.

IMPORTANT:

• Successful applicants must be local to the Edmonton area or willing to relocate
• As a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidates

successfully pass pre-employment testing that may include a Criminal

Background Check, as well as Drug and Alcohol screening.

• Due to varying site locations travel is required for this role. Any cost not

immediately covered by Sterling Crane will be reimbursed as per the 955

Collective Bargaining Agreement.
