THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Full-time and ongoing Help Desk Assistant to join our IT team, providing essential support to students, faculty, and staff. RESPONSIBILITIES
User Support:
- Respond to and resolve user inquiries, technical issues, and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide first-level troubleshooting and technical assistance for hardware, software, and network-related problems.
Ticket Management:
- Utilise ticketing system to log, track, and prioritise support, repair and insurance requests.
- Document solutions and resolutions thoroughly for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Hardware and Software Maintenance:
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, projectors, printers, and peripherals.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure that systems are up-to-date and in compliance with security policies.
- Monitor and assign notebooks to staff and students.
User Training:
- Conduct training sessions for end-users on basic hardware and software usage.
- Create and update user guides and documentation.
Communication:
- Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users.
- Keep users informed about the status of their requests and provide timely updates on ongoing issues.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the improvement of IT processes.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Proven experience in a Help Desk or technical support role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Customer-focused with a dedication to providing exceptional service.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
