Position Title: Horticulture Trainer

Probation: 3 months
Purpose / Role Overview
- Plan and deliver Horticulture/Land Management training (Certificate II and III level) in the workplace and classroom
- Support students to gain the best educational outcomes possible
- Assess student learning needs to maximise individual learning opportunities and outcomes
- Provide pathway advice and support to learners
- Develop and maintain relationships with:
Current and potential learners;
Local employers;
Host work experience contacts;
Employment and Disability Service providers; and
Relevant Industry organisations.
Responsibilities:
Learner Engagement
- Support learners to gain the best educational outcomes possible
- Deliver quality and inclusive teaching and learning practices
- Assess student learning needs to maximise individual learning opportunities and outcomes
- Develop and deliver engaging inclusive programs to learners
- Provide pathway advice and support to learners
- Conduct on site visits for the purpose of training, assessment and/or practical placement observations as required
Business Development
- Identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Advance services
- Provide feedback to referring agencies as required
Continuous Improvement
- Maintain quality service delivery that optimises stakeholder satisfaction and which is compliant with ASQA/AQTF Standards for Registered Training Organisations, Government Funded Training contract requirements and within Victorian and Commonwealth Legislation.
- Participate in validation and moderation and other processes as required to ensure contractual compliance and continuous improvement.
- Participate in staff meetings, policy and organisational development activities.
Communications
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders with the aim of creating awareness and continuously improving programs
- Network with and market to industry providers to increase program delivery
- Demonstrate high level verbal, listening and written communication skills a required
General
- Comply with all relevant Advance policies and procedures, and legislative requirements
- Display high level of personal integrity and professionalism when representing Advance

Qualifications & Required Expertise
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE 40116 or equivalent (mandatory)
- Demonstrated vocational experience to, at least, Certificate III level (mandatory)
- Other Qualifications in Adult or Vocational Education
- Industry specific qualifications
- Deliver of training and support to disadvantaged learners
- Current Working With Children Clearance (mandatory)
- Current Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
