ABOUT THE ROLE
The Horticulturist will play a crucial role in our indoor vertical farm operations, contributing to the cultivation of high quality crops in a controlled environment. They will work closely with the Head Grower and Plant Biologist to ensure optimal plant health and high yields are achieved. As a Horticulturist, your primary duties will encompass:
- Crop cultivation - monitor the cultivation process from seeding to harvest within a fully automated farm.
- Environmental monitoring - confirm that environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity and light levels are achieving optimal plant growth.
- Nutrient management - ensure nutrient guidelines designed by the R & D team are adhered to for each crop variety.
- Data collection and analysis - assist in the collection and interpretation of digital data relating to plant growth, environmental conditions and crop yields to monitor production targets.
- Equipment maintenance - perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment such as nutrient sensors, calibration tools and cameras to ensure efficient operation.
- Farm harvesting and seeding - assist with all harvesting and seeding activities.
- Research and development - stay informed about the latest developments in indoor farming techniques and technologies and contribute to research projects aimed at improving crop quality and yields.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal applicant will possess:
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture or Plant Science is desirable.
- Previous experience in Indoor Vertical Farming is preferred, but is not essential.
- Experience with environmental monitoring systems and automated control systems. Our farms are fully automated and you will be required to use computers to control and operate our technology systems.

- Outcome-driven with the capability to deliver results within a given time frame.
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills with a positive approach to engaging with internal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as needed.
