All Saints Anglican School services the needs of 1800 students currently enrolled from Pre-Prep to Year 12. All Saints is centrally located on the Gold Coast on a 40 Hectare site at Merrimac and has an excellent reputation where staff appreciate one another and generosity of spirit abounds.
About the role:
We are in need of an experienced, reliable and highly motivated Horticulturist/Leading Hand to lead a small team and assist the very busy Facilities Team in the maintenance and presentation of the school grounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading and motivating a small team to conduct horticultural maintenance and improvements around the school campus, including but not limited to; planting, pruning, mulching, hedging and green waste removal.
- Planning and organisation of own work priorities and delegating of work to team members, ensuring all designated work practices are followed to maximise outcomes in terms of quality and productivity.
- Implementation of a fertilizer and pesticide spray program for all landscaped/garden areas around the school.
- Undertake a wide variety of landscaping projects throughout the school, including initial plant out/design and garden upgrades.
- Operation, maintenance and cleaning of tools and machinery.
- Upkeep and improvements to existing irrigation systems.
- General daily horticultural duties.
- Following all policies, procedures and industry standards to ensure a safe environment for all students, staff and guests of the school.
The successful applicant will require:
- Previous experience.
- Minimum Certificate III in Horticulture required.
- Class C drivers licence
- ACDC weed spraying licence required.
- Ability to work outside of normal hours of duty, including weekend work as required.
- Ability to participate effectively as an energetic, reliable team member.
Commencing immediately this is a full-time position, 38 hours per week with roster flexibility required.
