About the role
The function of this position is to assist research on the projects exploring Burns and novel skin regenerative techniques working under the supervision of Professor Peter Maitz, Dr Joanna Maitz and other research Scientists. The role is Based at the ANZAC Research Institute, Concord Hospital. The role of the Research Assistant is to monitor experimental animals, prepare biological samples for quantification and analysis using immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry techniques and to assist with the SKIN Biobank.
We are looking for someone who…
- Holds a Bachelor Degree in Science and has experience in a related field with focus on biomedical science with molecular biology techhniques.
- Has the capability to maintain high-quality, clear and comprehensive records of experimental results.
- Is able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, and possesses excellent time management, organisational and analytical problem-solving skills.

About working for SLHD
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course).
