Rydges Sydney Airport is currently seeking motivated Full Time Accounts Clerk to join our dynamic and professional team. The person will report to the Financial Controller.
The successful candidate needs to possess the following experience and skills:
- Absolute operational finance and commercial focus with constant liaison and business support provided to each General Manager and Department Managers
- Assist in regular liaison and business support provided to Owners, including attendance at Owners meetings to support senior finance managers;
- Provide each General Managers, Department Managers and Owners with sound business advice in relation to proposed business activities and break‐even analysis, with the support of senior finance managers;
- Continue to improve the overall success of the properties within the hotel/s by policing appropriate policies and procedures;
- Maintain and implement hotel internal controls systems;
- Comply with all company financial policies, procedures and reporting requirements, monitor and control all revenue, expenses and working capital within the framework of the agreed budget;
- Coach and develop finance and business support staff located in the hotel/s under your responsibility;
- Take part in the various financial planning and analysis activities of the hotel, such as budget preparation, forecasting, variance analysis and then create action plans and associated timelines to deliver improvements, with the support of senior finance managers;
- Attend all scheduled departmental meetings for the hotel (daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc);
- Impose a disciplined financial control environment with an absolute focus on cost control throughout the hotels;
- Implement and oversee the daily, weekly and monthly operational reporting including but not limited to; Daily revenue and F&B tracker reporting; Weekly, monthly and quarterly revenue forecasting; Weekly Payroll reporting; Analysis of the food and beverage costs of sales and sales mix highlighting pertinent issues;
- Implement accounting controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure accuracy and reliability of the financial and accounting data and associated reporting. This includes but is not limited to cash, debtor and stock controls;
- Adhere to all internal, owner and corporate reporting requirements on a timely basis;
- Promote operational efficiency and encourage adherence to prescribed managerial policies such as authority level limits;
- General Ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, preparations and submission of monthly, half‐yearly and yearly reporting;
- Implementation and administration of appropriate credit policy and procedures;
- Adhere to all payroll controls, wages and salaries disbursement procedure including compliance with the various award provisions applicable, visa restrictions of staff and tax legislation;
- Development, implementation and administration of appropriate purchasing, stores and accounts payable procedures including contracts, cash purchases and conflict of interest;
- Implement and encourage a commercial approach to deliver the best financial, operational and employer of choice outcomes for the hotel/s.
