About the role

The HR Business Partner is a Senior Leader working collaboratively with teams and leaders across the Mont Marte group of companies. The role provides comprehensive HR administration, support and advice related to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, development, engagement and HR compliance.  This role also reviews commercial matters such as trademark infringements and making recommendations to address these.  As a trusted member of our Senior Management Team, the HR Business Partner role is responsible for embedding company Values and culture as the champion of our business vision. 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, maintaining and coordinating effective and compliant recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes in collaboration with the hiring manager. 
  • Managing performance management processes to ensure they are effective and compliant with employment legislation. 
  • Providing hands on support, coaching and guidance to leaders on performance improvement plans and processes. 
  • Training and supporting Mont Marte leaders to deliver HR initiatives and frameworks effectively and compliantly, including Monthly Reviews. 
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining HR and operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring HR frameworks and procedures are compliant with federal, state and local employment laws. 
  • Regularly facilitating respect at work, and other policy-related training, across the Mont Marte team. 
  • Embedding and facilitating the Mont Marte culture and Values throughout the company. 
  • Managing the Values embedment project including facilitating Values-based meetings and events and organising/presenting Values rewards. 
  • Checking and reviewing all legal documents and contracts between Mont Marte and external parties.
  • Managing all Mont Marte trademarks, including new registrations, renewals, commercial viability testing and infringements, consulting with Directors and external lawyers as required. 
  • Liaising with directors, lawyers and other stakeholders as required.
  • Developing and maintaining policies and procedures across Mont Marte, seeking support and collaborating with content experts as required. 
About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:           

  • Solid experience as an HR Generalist and capable and unafraid of managing all HR functions (specialist and strategic support is available).
  • The resilience and determination to lead a pivotal standalone role where you need to roll your sleeves up and take ownership of the HR function. 
  • History of working collaboratively across a business to optimise performance and culture.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience both nationally and globally.
  • A supportive and empathetic approach to all people matters.
  • A commercial lens and appetite to grow your knowledge of the retail art sector.
  • Experience working within a commercial or large retail business.
  • A strong understanding of how to mitigate risk and educate others on compliance.
  • Passion for organisation and administration – all the boxes need to be ticked leaving nothing to chance.
  • Comfort sitting at the Senior Management Team table as well as organising, participating and taking minutes in SMT meetings.
  • A likeable and fun personality!  A great attitude and personality are just as important as your experience.
