Employee and Workplace Relations is responsible for management of the Justice portfolio's industrial relations program, the management of departmental employee relations issues, the department's Human Resource Business Partnerships and also administers the interval review of actions process.
About the Role
The HR Business Partner's core functions span the breadth of workplace cultural, and people matters, including human resources policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment, redeployment, and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; occupational health and safety management; and employment regulations.
Some of your duties may include:
- Provide expert HR advice to assigned client groups, which includes regional offices and prisons, and stakeholders within the Department through a HR Business Partnership model
- Provide executives and managers with high level strategic advice, coaching and support on a broad range of complex HR issues and practices, offering solutions in line with organisational priorities and in accordance with relevant government policy, legislation, industrial awards and departmental policy
- Assist, mentor and coach managers in employee relations matters and identify options for the early resolution of workplace relations matters.
As our ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Demonstrate experience in delivering organisational development related projects
- Demonstrate ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrate experience in providing advice on workplace matters, performance management, workplace change, employee development and industrial relations
- Experience in the provision of HR services in a large complex organisation.
- A qualification in human resources, organisational development, business and/or other relevant fields.
