- Understand, interpret and advise stakeholders on the GSE, ensuring the processes and policies surrounding this are adhered to
- Become a true Business Partner for stakeholders across the business, building relationships at an executive level
- Be a direct support to recruitment/HR professionals in both a leadership and mentoring capacity
- Supporting stakeholders across the business with HR processes, ensuring that compliance processes are met
- Act as a true consultant for key stakeholders across the organisation
- Deliver services, advice, information sessions and coaching across the full range of people related issues, exercising judgement and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters and cases, identifying risks and making sound recommendations to provide effective solutions
- Undertake case management across a range of employment matters including performance, conduct and grievances, working with the Safety and Wellbeing and Industrial and Employee Relations functions as required, and applying sound judgement and discretion to manage sensitive issues effectively and enable timely resolution
- Interpret and provide timely and accurate advice to managers and employees on relevant legislation, Awards, policies and conditions of employment to ensure effective and consistent application across the business in line with government requirements
- Manage workers compensation investigations and cases
- Managed return to work cases where applicable
- Work with recruitment teams in an advisory and guiding capacity
- Be the go-to person for the team, adopting a hands-on and proactive approach when needed
- Deliver an effective workforce consulting services and advice across a broad range of areas impacting leaders, teams and organisational culture, leveraging workforce data, insights and trends to recommend evidence-based solutions and enable the achievement of business and workforce objectives
- Experience in a HR Business Partner role or similar, within NSW Government is essential
- Thorough understanding of the GSE is essential
- Experience in a leadership or management role would be beneficial
- Candidates must be proactive, intelligent and self-motivated, with a passion for integrating themselves into the task
- Excellent communication skills required
- Ability to remain calm and solution-focussed when under pressure
- Understanding of strict processes, particularly surrounding HR in the Government space
- Candidates must be available immediately
- Candidates must be able to commit to the required duration of the assignment
