About Us:
Originally named The Wayside Foundation, The Ted Noffs Foundation was established in 1970 by the great Australian humanitarian, Reverend Ted Noffs, and renamed in 1992 to honour his life’s work.
The Ted Noffs Foundation services are focused on helping young people with drug, crime and mental health issues and have achieved significant success. We run services across NSW, ACT and QLD with over 150 staff and nearly 300 volunteers committed to helping disadvantaged young Australians.
The Role:
Noffs is looking for a HR Manager to be part of our dynamic team supporting the work we do with marginalised young people and to be a vital part in the HR lifecycle as well as shaping workplace culture. This is a varied role and will encompass a range of responsibilities for the HR and general administrative functions
This role is based at Noffs Headquarters and works in coordination with other members of the administration and management teams
Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:
- Undertake day-to-day processing of HR administration duties pertaining to recruitment including managing job adverts, filtering applications, organising interviews and occasionally performing reference checks.
- Coordinate recruitment process with Unit Managers through the recruitment management system.
- Employee on-boarding, including preparation of contracts, verifying clearance and facilitating employee inductions.
- Employee off-boarding, including conducting exit interviews, updating systems and payroll team.
- Be the initial point of contact for staff members and managers for HR enquiries and/or escalate as required.
- Help to resolve workplace conflict and liaise between the parties.
- Assist Unit Managers in providing constructive and timely performance evaluations to staff members.
- Handle disciplinary procedure and termination of staff members in accordance with company policies.
- Manage workers compensation claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all related documentation.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
- Sound interpretation of relevant legislation, policy, agreements & awards and escalating as required.
- Coordinate the monthly WH&S meeting and reports.
- Prepare accurate and concise reports, documents and correspondence as required.
- Coordinate and track staff learning & development as required.
- Assist with overall administrative and operational functions for the Foundation.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualified with a focus on Human Resources or similar qualification.
- Previous experience with a Human Resource Management Systems, preferably Employment Hero.
- Sound knowledge of the SCHADS Award and other employment regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office packages and Mac OS operations.
- Strong administrative skills, experience working in an administrative role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and oral communication skills.
- Ability to build positive interpersonal relationships and liaise with various individuals across the organisation.
- Must hold and maintain a cleared NSW Working With Children Check.
