Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
- Proven experience as an HR Manager and in-depth knowledge of HR functions.
- Solid experience in payroll processing and familiarity with Employment Hero/ Key Pay and ideally Wage Easy.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Working knowledge of payroll reporting including Single Touch Payroll (STP) and leave accruals/ liabilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to regularly travel to our interstate sites.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Very strong written and verbal communication.
- High level of proficiency with excel.
Tasks & responsibilities
- The focus of this role will be providing Management of Human Resources, the Payroll function and in time manage and oversee the transition, implementation and integration to Employment Hero.
- HR Management: Amend, update, develop and implement HR policies. Oversee the recruitment process, background checks, on-boarding and off-boarding. Conduct training sessions and career development for employees. Provide monthly reports to the board management.
- Payroll processing: Lead the end-to-end payroll process for approx 150 employees. Prepare payroll reports, summaries and reconciliations. Co-ordinate superannuation, payroll tax, child support and other monthly activities. Assist with rosters, shift duties and ad hoc payroll duties.
- Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits and rewards programs. Develop KPI and bonus structures for both individuals and teams.
- Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in labour laws and regulations. Conduct internal audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance. Award interpretation.
- Employee Relations: Foster positive employee relations through effective communication and conflict resolution. Work with Management to administer employee discipline. Conduct regular check-ins and feedback sessions to gauge employee satisfaction, engagement and retention.
