Job Description: As an HR Officer, you will support all aspects of the employee life cycle and will report to the Head of HR. This is a maternity cover role for a fixed term of 1 year and will be based full-time in our Head Office in Manly with a plan to move to the Sydney CBD in early 2025.

Responsibilities:
Employee life cycle:
- Support the Business Unit (BU) Managers throughout the recruitment process
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of all employees
HR management of current staff:
- Assist management and employees with their HR queries
- Maintain employee records in the HRIS, Employment Hero
- Work closely with Payroll regarding leave and pay issues
- Review and report on Continual Professional Development (CPD)
- Support the BU Managers with the performance management process
- Facilitate employee wellbeing initiatives
Legal:
- Employment contract management and distribution
- Maintain and develop HR policies and processes
- Assist with our WH&S responsibilities
Other:
- Actively support the Head of HR with a variety of HR initiatives
- Escalate HR issues to the Head of HR as appropriate
- Follow and apply the company values
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Report to the Head of HR
Essential requirements:
- 5+ years in an administrative role, preferably within HR
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organised with competent time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Google suite applications
- Tertiary qualification in HR
- Excellent attention to detail
- Fluent English
- Full working rights in Australia
Preferable requirements:
- Experience working in an HR role within a small team
- Proven ability to work autonomously
- Understanding of Industrial relations and Fair Work Act
- Experience in Trading or Financial Services Industry
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Employment Hero, Xero Payroll
