Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive communicator, with a passion for people management and a commitment to contributing to a positive and safe work culture to assist in our next phase of rapid business growth.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation and administration of our HR & Safety policies and procedures. This individual will be responsible for a variety of functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compliance with labour laws, and management of all things safety related.
This role could be completed by a part time employee, however if full time employment is desired by the candidate, additional responsibilities could be discussed.
This role includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Human Resources
- Manage recruitment processes from job posting to hiring, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for candidates.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation programs for new employees to foster positive integration into the company culture.
- Attracting, engaging and managing talent and building talent capability.
- Identifying leaders and leadership capabilities, succession planning.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labour laws and company standards.
- Coordinate performance management processes, including performance reviews and employee development plans.
- Handle employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to both staff and management.
- Manage HR records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of employee data.
- Support the development and implementation of training and development programs.
- Provide advice and guidance on HR best practices to management and staff.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR practices and initiatives.
Safety
- Developing and maintaining safety systems to ISO 45001 and ensuring the company remains compliant.
- Support management and staff in the implementation of safety processes and frameworks.
- Support management and staff in identifying, recording and reporting on hazards, accidents, injuries and health issues, as well as assisting in the rehabilitation of workers after accidents and overseeing their successful return to work.
Qualifications and skills:
- Cert IV in human resources, business administration, WHS, or related fields.
- Proven experience as a HR Coordinator, HR Officer, HR Administrator, Safety Officer or similar role.
- Experience in Risk and Compliance would be beneficial
- Comprehensive understanding of local employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive situations diplomatically.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
