Truck Driver - Roma

We currently have a permanent position available for a Truck Driver to join our team in Roma. Depending on workload and travel this is mainly a 5/2 roster but might require you to be away for 2 weeks at a time in FNQ - it is a perfect opportunity to join a large, secure, reputable company.

BDS Mechanical Repairs is a privately owned and growing business that offers mechanical, auto electrical and welding repairs both in house and onsite with 22 fixed workshop locations throughout Queensland. We have over 160 field service units and the team at BDS cover over 600,000 km2 of Queensland meaning we’re never too far away.

The successful candidates will possess the following:

• Must have minimum Heavy Rigid License
• Good communication skills
• Strong fault finding skills
• Strong commitment to safety
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles
• Extra skills, experience, tickets and licenses will be advantageous

Duties:

• Safely operate a heavy rigid truck and adhere to road rules
• Portray professionalism on the road and with customers while representing BDS
• Mostly driving but some trade assistant or yard work may be required
• Perform vehicle inspections and preventative safety measures
• Be stationed out of Roma mainly but trips to FNQ for a few weeks may be required; must be prepared to swag it some nights if accommodation is unavailable
