East Arm Civil is a Civil Construction Company based in Darwin, operating in the Territory since 1996. Our company is certified to comply with OH&S, Quality & Environmental Management System 45001:2018/14001:2015/9001:2015 and the Federal Safety Commission Accreditation Scheme.
We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join our well-established team. As the HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring all construction operations comply with regulatory and company work health and safety expectations.
Key Responsibilities.
- Ensuring legislation compliance and codes of practice.
- Assist Construction Lead overseeing Pre-shift meetings, Toolbox, Inductions and Site inspections.
- Maintain accident/incident register, investigations, near misses, hazard reporting and risk assessments.
- Key representative in site audits, external audits, and system maintenance.
- Facilitate training, inductions and lead safety site onboarding processes and checklists.
- Drive HSE awareness by demonstrating and leading superior HSE behaviours.
- Collaborate with Construction teams, internal and external stakeholders promoting and implementing HSE requirements.
- Develop strategic HSE plans, continuously improving policies and procedures.
- Conduct monthly reporting.
- Attend and contribute to Safety initiatives and meetings.
- Ensure accuracy in maintaining Company Integrated Management System in consultation with the Company Quality Representative.
Required Attributes.
- Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent essential.
- Current driver’s licence and Construction Industry White Card.
- Background in the Civil Construction Industry required.
- Qualified First Aid, Drug and Alcohol testing required.
- Crane and rigging knowledge and experience.
- Incident investigation qualifications, Kalvin top set, tap root, ICAM.
- Proficient with Intermediate Microsoft Suite essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of NT & Federal Legislation and OFSC requirements.
- Current Working at heights Licence and Confined Space Ticket.
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated, with exceptional time management.
