Hse Advisor - National

The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a National HSE Advisorto support the General Manager - Operations in the effective management and implementation of Health, Safety, Environment, Rehabilitation and Training throughout Komatsu Forklift sites nationally.

Key Duties Include:

• Lead and conduct incident investigations, including the preparation of the investigation report.
• Conduct site compliance inspections and HSE audits.
• Periodically attend pre-shift meetings and where necessary communicate HSE information.
• Assist in mentoring and supporting Departmental employees to ensure full understanding and adherence to Komatsu’s Safety Management & Environmental systems, particularly KomSAFE.
• Undertake chemical management audit across Komatsu Forklifts sites nationally and assist in updating information into ChemWatch as well as educating personnel in the use of Chemwatch.
• Assist with Site Health, Safety, Environment Inductions for all employees and contractors.
• Assist in the management of Workers Compensation claims and Rehabilitation Plans/Programs
• Assist with the random drug and alcohol program.
• Prepare HSE bulletins, alerts and communications.
• Provide support in HSE when required.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities we're Looking For:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Workplace Health and Safety
• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Minimum requirement)
• Knowledge of Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation claims management.
• High level organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
• High level of internal customer service/satisfaction skills
• Ability to communicate with end users and have well-developed written and oral communication skills
• High level of expertise in Microsoft suite computer programs
