About the Opportunity
Australian Agribusiness is currently seeking a permanent full time HSE Coordinator to join our team. Operating primarily from our Manufacturing facility located at Lara, and reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, this role will support key HSE initiatives and activities across the business that promote an environment that places people and safety first.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
- Ensuring systems are established and maintained to facilitate on-going improvement of plant safety procedures, equipment and materials.
- Conducting spot checks / internal audits and reviewing site health, safety and environmental compliance with relevant legislation and the HSE Annual Program.
- Conducting/organising/developing HSE training programs as per the annual Training Schedule for all relevant employees.
- Ensuring that all WorkCover claims are managed promptly and efficiently and develop & implement strategies regarding the status of claims.
- In consultation with key stakeholders, investigate and determine the root causes of all serious injuries/near misses to formulate appropriate corrective actions and report findings.
- Ensuring that all HSE information is coordinated, and where possible, standardised for all locations including Confined Spaces, Dangerous Goods, Hazardous Substances, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) etc through implementing adequate standards and procedures in conjunction with suitable Permit to Work and Management of Change processes.
- Coordinating and championing HSE culture initiatives.
- Actively advising on changes and developments in HSE and ensure that HSE policies and procedures are updated accordingly in consultation with management, the HSE Committee and employees.
- Maintaining and providing relevant statistics and data to the management team on a monthly basis.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for safety and be motivated to drive HSE strategic initiatives across the business. The candidate will possess:
- Tertiary Qualifications in HSE (minimum Diploma in WH&S) Degree is preferred.
- Return to Work Coordinator (RTWC) certificate
- Current Cert IV in Training and Assessment preferred
- Experience with chemical / high-risk industries, particularly Major Hazard Facilities (MHF) is highly desirable
- At Least 3 year’s experience in a dedicated health safety and environment role.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing, implementing and monitoring HSE procedures and systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills - written, verbal and presentation;
- Excellent organisational and time management skills;
- High proficiency with Microsoft packages, including MS Office;
