Role Purpose
As a senior safety leader, you will principally add value to the company through continually improving safety culture and performance. In assisting the company to realise their safety performance benchmarks, your focus is to lead and direct the safety team on the project and to provide expert advice to project leadership.
To achieve this outcome, you will be expected to:
- Drive safety best practice across the project through systems, training, consultation, and auditing
- Provide leadership on and promote safety culture initiatives with the project team and subcontractors
- Oversee internal and client safety reporting requirements
- Regularly review training requirements to ensure adequate training for the project
- Develop and manage partnerships with client, subcontractor and community stakeholders
- Lead the project safety team
Your leadership and track record
To meet the expectations of exceeding industry safety benchmarks it is expected that you can demonstrate previous oversight of a safety function, project or corporate, within construction or civil engineering. Your performance as a leader will point to your success in developing a safety team and educating project leadership through advice on WHS requirements. Previous client relationships will highlight your ability to build strong stakeholder partnerships. Your experience will be supported by formal HSE or related qualifications.
