RecruitWest has partnered with a well-established business in Bunbury that is in the process of expanding.
They have an opening for a full-time HSEQ Advisor to join their team assisting in their Commercial Construction team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional advice and service to all areas of operation in the field of HSEQ, while delivering training and instruction to the business on HSEQ matters.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant acts and legislation, as well as pending changes to the law in their field of specialty and ensure that such requirements are made known to all workers and are complied with.
· Contribute to the accomplishment of BGC Constructions business objectives and targets.
· Provide advice and service in the fields of Occupational health, safety and environment. Such information includes safe working practices, industry standards, laws and regulations and other technical guidance.
· Provide internal safety observations, audits and workplace inspections.
· Facilitate and assist with hazard/risk identification and assist with appropriate control measure implementation.
· Prescribe and implement preventive and corrective actions.
· Deliver health and safety training programmes as required by BGC Management.
· Assist the HSEQ Manager investigate and report on any incident as required.
· Act as the Interface and communicate with client personnel as required.
· Participate in Safety, Health and Environment compliance checks of the workplace.

· The following accountabilities apply to site-based roles/activities that the HSEQ Advisor may be performing:
· Have a thorough understanding of the Safety Management Plan and safety procedures specific to the project.
· Ensure that all employees and workers comply with the Safety Management Plan for the project.
· Participate in safety meetings and programs that are relevant for the project.
Immediate rectification (if possible) and notification to management of any actual or potential safety, quality, or environmental incident, hazard or occurrence on site.
Role Requirements:
· Certificate 4 or higher qualification in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent).
· Nationally accredited Auditing qualification. (Desirable)
· Valid First Aid certificate.
· Nationally accredited Training and Assessment qualification. (Desirable)
· Industry recognized incident investigation training. (Desirable)
· Construction Safety Awareness Card.
· Minimum Class C Motor Vehicle License.
· Minimum 2 years in the construction industry.
· Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor. (Desirable)
