Our Opportunity
Due to Company growth, we have an opportunity for a HSEQ and Compliance Officer to join our team. This position will be based in our Stapylton or Rocklea office. With travel on a need’s basis between these 2 sites will be a requirement of this role.
You will be passionate about all things Health, Safety and Quality with the ability to communicate to stakeholders. You will also be accountable for:
- Provide advice and lead the HSEQ culture to ensure the site operations team is committed to compliance with relevant Safety Environment legislation and internal quality system requirements.
- Ensuring HSEQ and JSA schedule is maintained and updated on a regular basis including and that On-site reviews are completed in accordance with the schedule.
- Overseeing any Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions processes, inclusive of change management and implementation, resulting from Audit findings.
- Reviewing any data intended for the HSEQ Scorecard to ensure its integrity and validity.
- Developing and implementing HSEQ programs, policies, procedures and processes at a site level.
- Ensuring processes needed for the PMA HSEQ management system are established, implemented and maintained.
- Assisting in various activities, including but not limited to risk identification, incident reporting and investigation, waste minimization, pollution prevention and control of compliance activities in all areas of HSE.
- Ensuring effective promotion of awareness of HSE requirements throughout the organization.
- Providing advice to management and supervision within the assigned assets or locations on HSE regulatory compliance and applicable industry practices.
- Minimum Work Health and Safety Cert IV
- Proven work experience in a blue-collar environment
- Knowledge and experience across ISO 9001 and ISO14001 requirements.
- Proven experience writing SWMS across a variety of work environments.
- Proven experience organising VOC’s together with Return to Work plans are implemented.
- Ability to adapt communication style to meet the requirements of multifaceted teams.
- Incident Management review experience
- Confidence in using MS Office Suite
- Sound negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflict, handle complaints and manage complex situations.
- Ability to think innovatively, identify improvements to existing business processes and systems.
- Experience in the interpretation and application of relevant HSE Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
