As the HSEQ Business Partner, you will manage and lead the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality programs in Western Australia. This is an exciting and hands-on role, partnering with operations and the business to bring real value to employees and leaders. As the region's main point of contact on all HSEQ topics you will bring HSEQ to life with energy and enthusiasm.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
  • Promote “safety first” behaviour and a continuous improvement quality culture, actively engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Learn and understand our business processes, including how industrial gases are made, packaged and distributed to keep our people, our customers and our community safe. 
  • Integrate into a workforce with a number of key stakeholder across several facilities, and deliver internal customer satisfaction through true Business Partnership
  • Lead all aspects of the safety program, including day to day activities and larger improvement projects. Be the partner of the business by consulting and engaging at all levels of the organisation to deliver outcomes that improve safety in the real world 
  • Understand and promote all elements of the Air Liquide Industrial Management System as the critical tool to ensure safe and reliable operations
  • Use certification system requirements (ISO9001 QMS, ISO45001 OHS, FSSC, ISO22000, PICS/ GMP)  to improve the way we work. Endorse compliance as a tool for good business and continuous improvement with a strong quality mindset.  
  • Understand regulatory requirements (including dangerous goods production, storage and transport) and support the business to ensure we prioritise regulatory compliance as part of our social licence to operate 
  • Ensure all workers know how to do their job safely and well through the induction, training and qualification program
  • Identify hazards and risks across all Victorian facilities, ensure they are eliminated or mitigated, and well understood by those working on our sites and with our products, including employees and contractors. Propose practical and innovative ideas to reduce risk and improve safety culture.  
  • Work with subject matter experts, for example the Transport Safety Manager and Process Risk Manager, to implement programs targeting industry specific risks
  • Use and promote tools for enhancing safety and quality compliance such as Management of Change, online inductions, security systems, incident reporting, training and qualification management and document control.  
  • Manage all incidents, unsafe circumstances or behaviour occurring within the region (including transport incidents) ensuring initial response, prompt reporting, root cause analysis, identification of actions, creation of incident alerts, assistance in closing actions and follow up. Manage return to work for injured employees.
  • Conduct audits as part of the national audit program to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, identification of areas for improvement and implementation of corrective actions. Represent Air Liquide for external audits in the region.

  • Have strong knowledge of HSEQ best practices, legislation, regulations and standards.
  • Have a growth mindset. Be inquisitive and eager to learn about industrial processes. Some background in industrial processes, safety on industrial facilities and dangerous goods is preferred
  • Show enthusiasm and energy to promote safety and quality as core values of the organization
  • Able to influence stakeholders, build strong collaborative relationships with senior leaders and employees, and able to challenge unsafe behaviours or decisions
  • Be proactive, focus on delivery, completion of projects on time, results without compromising relationships or process, and be an agent of change 
  • Be technologically savvy and able to adapt to the Google ecosystem
  • Tertiary qualification in OHS
  • 5 years experience in the HSEQ industry
  • Internal auditor certificate
  • Internal audit experience in QMS, OHS, GMP and/or other disciplines
  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering or other related disciplines preferred
