About the role
We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Coordinator to maintain and coordinate AUS-MEAT’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems ensuring relevant accreditations are maintained, data and reporting is accurate. This role will actively support management in the delivery of continuous improvement processes across these areas of responsibility. The position is full-time permanent based in Murarrie, Queensland.
Reporting directly to Head of People & Capabilities, this newly created position will require you to work closely with our HSEQ Consultant, Health & Safety Advisor, Program/Scheme Managers and Extended Leadership Team.
Key areas of focus for this position include but not limited to:
- Maintain and administer the quality systems (AUS-QUAL Certification Management and JAS-ANZ accreditation standards).
- Escalate any high-risk compliance, policy, or business critical issues to HSEQ Consultant.
- Act as the key internal and external point of contact for HSEQ.
- Act as secretary for Quality, Workers HSE Committee and HSE Management meetings including coordination of agendas, taking and publishing of minutes.
- Coordinate and assist in closure of corrective actions resulting from internal and certification audits and assist investigations into safety related incidents.
- Develop, implement, and support a Green Charter for AUS-MEAT.
- Assist in pre-audit preparations and coordination of the audit with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide technical support on relevant legislative and standard/ISO/JAS-ANZ requirements relating to the program/scheme.
- Ownership of AUS-MEAT’s Business Management System ensuring documentation is uploaded, maintained, and regularly reviewed.
- Provide training and mentoring across the organisation on HSEQ matters.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of current trends and legislation relating to the provision of services.
- Identify improvements to policy, processes, guidance documents and work instructions or the work environment.
- Take immediate action to address identified/reported WHS matters in line with the hierarchy of controls/organisational requirements.
A little about you
To be considered for this role, you will have a relevant qualification, as a minimum, Diploma in Work, Health & Safety, and/or Environment, and/or Quality. Industry experience in professional services, food safety environment or similar regulated industry is advantageous.
Our ideal candidate will have sufficient experience in a similar role coupled with strong technical knowledge of how to read and implement ISO and Industry Standards, certification requirements, codes of practice and regulatory environment/requirements.

- Strong evidence-based decision-making capabilities.
- Experience of conducting internal and external audits (as auditor and/or auditee).
- Ability to work independently.
